In Off-Road mode, the M-Class can comfortably conquer lateral slopes of up to 35° and can even ascend a 100% slope if fitted with the optional Off-Road Pro Package.

As for going downhill, it makes light work of difficult descents thanks to Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR). Activate the DSR button on the centre console and the car automatically maintains a fixed low speed of 6 km/h (within the physical limits). You can then use the cruise control stalk to adjust the set speed between 4 km/h and 18 km/h, ensuring a safe, controlled passage to the bottom of the slope.
