The standard COMAND system is the ultimate head unit. It delivers increased functionality, including a 4GB Music Register, aux-in connection and SD-card slot, enabling you to create personalised music libraries. Audio and video DVD compatibility is also provided as standard through the integrated 6-disc CD / DVD changer, whilst an optional TV tuner (standard on ML 500/63) allows terrestrial transmissions to be viewed on the 6.5" colour display.

Other standard features include hard disk navigation, which offers high-resolution maps for digitised areas of New Zealand, whilst Bluetooth connectivity with telephone keypad and hands-free telephony is also included as standard.

Included as part of the COMAND system, Linguatronic voice control allows you to direct the COMAND interface simply by speaking your instructions. To activate, just push the button on the multi-function steering wheel to enable total voice control. The system even reads out any text messages you receive while driving, so you can remain totally hands-free.
